A lot of people buying rural land or setting up an RV on their property run into the same problem - there's no good power source nearby. So they end up daisy-chaining extension cords across the lot just to get by. It works, but it's a fire hazard, a trip hazard, and honestly just a mess.
On this job, we ran underground power directly to a 5th wheel sitting out on an open parcel. The goal was simple - get this owner a clean, safe, permanent power source so they could stop relying on cords stretched across the ground. We mounted a weatherproof outlet on a post right next to the unit, keeping everything tight and accessible.
We also set up a disconnect - a proper on/off safety switch mounted to the outside of the outbuilding on the property. That gives the owner full control over the power supply and keeps things up to code. No guesswork, no jury-rigged solutions. Just solid work done right.
This kind of setup comes up more than you'd think. People living in an RV while building a home, owners setting up a property for the first time, folks who just want a dedicated spot for their rig - all of them need power done properly. Underground runs protect the wire from weather and damage, and a dedicated outlet means no more cord management headaches.
Whether it's an RV, a 5th wheel, a shop, or an outbuilding, getting power to where you actually need it is something we do all the time. It's not glamorous work, but it makes a real difference in how usable a property is day to day.
