Fire damage is about as bad as it gets for a homeowner. The structure is compromised, everything has to be torn out, and the rebuild has to be done right - because cutting corners on electrical work in a situation like this isn't just sloppy, it's dangerous. This was exactly the kind of job that reminded us why we do what we do.
Here's what we were working with: a home that had been gutted down to the studs. Charred framing, no roof, debris everywhere. The electrical system was completely gone. That meant starting from scratch - pulling fresh wire through every wall, every ceiling, every room. Full whole house wiring installation, done to code, done clean.
What we ended up with on the inside is a complete lighting installation across the entire home. Brass pendant lights over the kitchen island, a statement chandelier in the great room, a smaller chandelier in the dining area, recessed can lights throughout the basement and stairwell, and wall sconces in the bathroom - all wired and installed by us. Every fixture, every circuit, placed with intention.
The exterior got a fresh lantern-style sconce by the front entry too. That kind of detail matters. When a home comes back from something this severe, every finish element has to earn its place. The lighting choices here were intentional, and our job was to make sure they were also safe and properly installed.
Jobs like this one are exactly why quality electrical wiring installation matters so much. A house fire often starts because of bad wiring. Rebuilding one gives you the chance to do it right from the ground up - and that's a responsibility we take seriously every single time.
